Beachbody.com Review

Beachbody is an American based company aimed at providing fitness and weight loss products. Started in Santa Monica, California, Beachbody has a self-acclaimed twenty-three million customers.

Origins

Beachbody was founded in 1998 by two co-founders namely: Carl Daikeler and Jon Congdon whose main aim was to provide weight loss and fitness solutions. The company offers products such as weight loss, fitness and muscle bodybuilding exercise videos. These videos include a series of products such as P90X, Hip Hop Abs, INSANITY, 21 DAY FIX among others.

Approach

Each exercise instructional video provides both the training and nutritional guidelines for participants involved in any of the products specified by the Beachbody franchise.

The franchise offers a variety of video libraries with each product providing various training modules to meet specific needs. For example, among the libraries, there are products that help individuals lose weight while other products help others build muscle. Each program has some element that provides for a particular need for various people.

Most of the programs entail challenging workout regimens with diet guidelines and recommended nutritional supplements that are used in providing an alternative to meeting one’s nutritional requirements. One majorly publicized supplement endorsed by the Beachbody franchise is Shakeology.

An example of a highly recognized product from Beachbody is the P90X program that involves a flexible 90 day fitness regimen created by fitness trainer and Coach Tony Horton. The system includes twelve workouts that use bodyweight and resistance training, cardio, yoga just to mention a few of the seven different types of training modules encompassed in the system. The system comes bundled with a fitness guide, nutritional plan, and a workout calendar to enable one to track workout schedules.

The approach of the P90X program is to focus on what is referred to as “muscle confusion” which is simply a training method that has the exercises mixed and incorporated in different motions and movements. The aim of this employed methodology is to prevent the body from adapting to a particular exercise for over a given period resulting in continued improvement and minimal performance stagnation.

Another highly sought out for fitness program is INSANITY developed by Shaun T. This program is a sixty-day workout program with intense and strenuous stamina training modules. The program focuses on “max interval training” which involves one training for short periods of time but with intense bursts of energy. In this program, participants have three to four-minute cardio workout modules with rests for approximately thirty seconds in between each exercise module. After the resting phase or “cool-down”, the drill resumes for another three to four minutes. In the INSANITY program, no weights or any exercising equipment are required for the entirety of the workout.

Other fitness programs are P90X2, P90X3, Insanity: The Asylum, Insanity Max 30, 21-Day Fix, 21-Day Fix Extreme, Body Beast among others.

The company boasts of having over four hundred and fifty thousand independent distributors that are part of the multi-level marketing network that provides support to consumers of various products of the Beachbody franchise.
